Key 23 Archive Breakdown - by Apathy Jack Ever have those times when you wake up screaming, and then you realise you haven't gone to sleep yet? I do, more and more these days. A little while ago, I was a devoutly social animal - Last year I went to such efforts to hang out with my friends that my course work suffered. It wasn't the only reason that I failed, but perhaps if I hadn't spent quite so much time in the student bar I could have better combated the other factors. Rich

Stop me if you've heard this one before. My flatmate went to a small social gathering where alcohol was on offer. She drank a prodigious amount of it. She did a battery of stupid things and proceeded to throw up a couple of times. The next morning, nursing a beelzebubian hangover, she moaned that she was going to give up drinking. Sound familiar? You know what I hate? Fat people. Can't stand the chubby bastards. They take up too much space for one thing. And they eat too much - they're a drain on our resources. Drop one of the tubby bitches into a nature reserve chock full of unique flora and fauna; Within a week it will be ruined - Endangered animals eaten, rare plants trampled by saturnine legs as they lumber towards their next unsuspecting meal. Entire areas flattened and sunken when the behemoth immediately tires of moving and drops buttocks that go past gargantuan to the indescribably Lovecraftian down on to the now forever blighted ground. Rules For Life - or, Things you should know, but apparently don't, that will help you become functioning human beings. Say thank you. · You're much better looking than you think you are. People find you attractive, so stop pining over them and ask them out. Rights and Wrongs - by Hewligan It seems that unlike any other form of communication, if you use the Internet you have absolutely no right to privacy. At least, that's the feeling the governments of the world are giving me. There's the US Carnivore system of course, but then the New Zealand government's been making its own efforts too, with legislation allowing the Police and SIS to get their grubby hands on your email. Know Your Role - by Hewligan At the moment I'm unemployed, and living off my rapidly dwindling savings. I mean they weren't that much to start with, and with no income they're going fast. The obvious thing to do would be to head off down the WINZ office, and sign up for the "Community Wage" (or whatever they're calling it this week. Just one problem: My Father Always Told Me - by Hewligan My father always told me that life isn't fair. The older I get, the more I see he was right. I worked as a teacher, and I saw some of the smartest, most talented kids you could ever hope to meet, who will leave school with no qualifications because they were born in the wrong area to parents who didn't have money. I've seen people who it surprises me that they have the brains to remember to breathe walk out of university with degrees. Free Speech - by Hewligan So, if you hang around a university long enough, you're bound to start hearing people talking about "Freedom of Speech." It's terribly important to them. Absolutely vital. Angst in the Evening - by Hewligan I have far too much time on my hands at the moment, and far too little motivation to do anything constructive with said time.
